On a calm still summer evening when the sun’s gone down,
If you tiptoe very carefully and you don’t make a sound,
Listen very carefully now as they are very hard to hear,
The fairies they are whispering but you must never fear.
If you look very closely now, The fairy ring you’ll see,
This is the most enchanting sight as they sing and dance for you and me,
They dress in pastel colours, their clothes they make from flowers,
This is where all the petals go when we’ve had thundery showers.
You must tread very carefully as they are everywhere,
A pretty sight to see are they with blossoms in their hair,
And if this is your lucky day your dreams may all come true,
They may grant you three wishes and your life will be brand new.

EBONY
He’s entered our lives now this cute ball of fur,
So content, listen quietly and you’ll hear him purr,
His fur is so shiny and black as can be,
And this is the reason we named him Ebony.
His eyes are like pools as blue as the sea,
He’s touched all our hearts he’s as cute as can be,
He cries when he’s hungry and gets quickly fed,
Gets cuddled to sleep and laid gently in bed.
He has a toy mouse which he chases everywhere,
He lies on his back with his paws in the air,
He climbs up your trousers to get on your knee,
The marks of his claws on your legs you will see.
Ebony came into our lives only one week ago,
He’s cute and he’s sweet and we all love him so,
From the moment we saw him until Eternity,
We will care and protect him this was meant to be

A DEDICATION
The devastation of being told
No more will we have you to hold
Our hearts are broken, tears we’ve wept
For the joy you brought to us could not be kept
We miss the fun loving times you gave
We miss your laughter for this we crave
The children miss your donkey rides
The loss we all feel we cannot abide
Your friends all miss the laughs you had
No more smiles all feel so very sad
We all miss your smile not to be seen again
Longing for laughter but only feeling pain
We must look forward though live life to the full
You would never have wanted our lives to be dull
We all cherish the memories we have in our heart
Together in Heaven we’ll be, never to part.
Written with sympathy to the Family and Friends
Of Steven Donovan who died tragically so young.

My children, My life
From the moment I saw your tiny face,
And touched your tiny hand,
My love has grown more everyday,
I hope this you’ll understand.
Each fall hurt me more than it did you,
I must keep you all from dangers,
Cuts to your heads and grazes to your knees,
Most important don’t talk to strangers.
Each time you leave I say watch the road,
I know this drives you all mad,
When you grow up and have children of your own,
You’ll see I’m not all that bad.
I know I like a tidy house,
And you always think I’m moaning,
Move your clothes and make your bed,
At this I hear you groaning.
I think the world of all of you
You’re always on my mind,
As three little angels I think of you
You are all so very kind.
I’m proud you all belong to me
I praise you to my friends
I love you all so very much
Your all my little Godsends
I cannot miss our Ebony out
With your tiny little paws
I love you, your my angel too
I just wish you had blunt claws.

THE SILVER LADY
I follow the path leading down to the wood
Before me in the distance I see
They trees they are parted as if by strange hands
What trauma could have made this be
I see her before me her shimmering dress
Crinalin flowing in the cool breeze
I do not fear her just can’t quite understand
Exactly what became of those trees
She floats away resting by a great oak
Her image fading gently away
Nothing is left but two streams of tears
Pouring her sorrows away
She searches the wood for her long lost love
Parted when she passed away
She hopes and she dreams that one day quite soon
Forever, together they’ll stay
She longs to ascend the stairway to Heaven
But cannot depart without his hand
Her one and only love she just cannot leave
Waits for him to go forth to the magic land

DANIEL, MY PRECIOUS SON
A knock at the door that we all dread
My legs feel heavy like lumps of lead
My mind spins round, my body explodes
Your Son’s been in an accident I am told
What has happened, what has he done
O’h God, please God, don’t take my Son
His head’s gone through a shop window
How it happened, I just don’t know
I rush from the house to be at his side
My precious Son all that’s on my mind
The Police, the Ambulance, I can clearly see
He’s so near, but so far, don’t take him from me
What I see before me is a Miracle
I’ve come back from what must be Hell
My boy’s alive just a cut to his head
God spared my Son, from what we all dread
